Updates

To save your existing data (libraries, books, highlights, bookmarks, notes, etc.), you must copy the old "dotreader-data" directory to be next to the new application. Download and unpack as before, but copy or move the "dotreader-data" directory from its old location.

Preview builds (which may or may not be more current) are here.

Note

The above files are bundles containing a standalone program which does not need to be installed. Please see the "howto" links for more detail.

The "dotreader-data" directory contains your books, libraries, annotations, and configuration data. The executable must currently be next to this directory to function properly. Future versions will also support a per-user data location.

For the "mini" builds (Windows and Linux), there is also a "dotreader-deps" directory which must be next to the executable.

dotReader To Go

Simply drag the three parts onto a usb drive and go. If you wish to use this drive on multiple platforms, just merge everything together as follows.

  dotreader-to-go/
    dotReader - Linux executable
    dotReader.exe - Windows executable
    dotReader.app - Mac appbundle
dotreader-deps/ - dependency files for Windows and Linux
dotreader-data/ - your books and such

The "dotreader-deps" directory needs to contain all of the .par files from both the Windows and Linux versions.
