The dotReader

The dotReader is an open source, cross-platform document | eBook  reader that allows users to browse, search, bookmark and annotate multiple content types in one, common interface. It's a zero-install program that goes where you go - online or offline. The plug-in architecture provides a stable platform to easily add features and capabilities. It is totally customizable.

Mozilla support coming soon!

The next release will include Mozilla support on Windows. This move will allow us to make several interface enhancements in upcoming releases.
Also on the horizon, more native formats.

dotReader update dtd 6-26-07

What's new with the dotReader...

It has been some time (long overdue) since my last dotReader update. We have not been idle over the past few months...

OSoft presented the dotReader on May 9th at the IDPF's Digital Book 2007 Conference in NY - to rave reviews. We demonstrated:
  • Support of the new .epub format as well as other formats
  • Embedded flash
  • Streaming video
  • Shared notes 
The dotReader is at the stage of development where it can be customized for virtually any eBook publisher or distributor. The current content for the dotReader is quite limited as the final .epub format specs have not been completed. This raises an opportunity to develop additional plug-ins for alternative formats that will allow the dotReader to be put into use now.
